WordPress isn’t always best.

While WordPress is undoubtedly the most versatile and robust site builder out there, not every website needs its functionalities.

Too many brands and organisations are stuck with a website that’s hard to update, a hassle to maintain, and that doesn’t actually work as intended anyway.

Sometimes, you just need a website that works flawlessly, looks good, attracts the right people, and reflects the amazing things you do.

A Squarespace website can do just that.

Keep what works, rebuild the rest

If your project is the right fit for this type of rebuild, we’ll recreate your website on Squarespace. While we do that, we clarify the front end (for your visitors) and simplify the backend (for you and your team).

What you’ll get

  • Rebuild on Squarespace

We’ll rebuild pages, posts, and events - and set up all necessary integrations.

  • Words that resonate

We’ll refresh and restructure your content as needed to improve clarity and user experience

  • SEO & GEO

Everything in the right place, so search engines and AI tools can easily read and understand what you’re all about

The pros and cons of moving to Squarespace

  • You don’t need to be an expert to work on a Squarespace website.

Once we’ve build your website, we’ll provide you with our notes so you know exactly how everything is set up.

Squarespace has a great community, knowledge base, and customer support; with our instructions, most of our clients find it easy enough to make simple updates (changing text or images, adding or removing sections, etc) or even create new pages themselves.

And if you ever find yourself stuck, you can reach out to us anytime.

  • WordPress fans often point to the “lack of plugins” as a downside of working with Squarespace.

While this isn’t quite correct (there are plenty of plugins for Squarespace), it is true that contrary to WordPress, Squarespace doesn’t need plugins for basic functionalities.

SEO, security, basic integrations, you name it - no need for plugins means also no risk of plugin conflicts.

And if you need advanced functionalities, specialised Squarespace plugins are available if it can’t simply be solved with code.

  • No plugins, no themes, no manual updates, also means no need to perform regular backups and maintenance.

You can “set it and forget it”: once your website is built, you don’t need to think about it until the next time you’ll want to update it.

Squarespace takes care of (a lot of) the backend, from security updates to SEO-readiness and accessibility. As long as your website follows some basic rules, there’s a lot less to worry about.

Why move to Squarespace…

… or why you might reconsider

  • If your existing website is content-heavy, moving to Squarespace might be more trouble than it’s worth.

Note: before making a decision, feel free to get in touch for a free assessment! We may consider an out-of-the-box solution that would work well for your platform.

Pages cannot simply be exported from WordPress, and imported to Squarespace. Someone with the right experience (that’s us!) will know how to recreate these efficiently - but if you have several dozen pages, it might be worth considering a different avenue… or potentially a different site architecture?

While posts can be exported from WordPress and simply imported into Squarespace, not all elements transfer perfectly. Internal links may need fixing, images may be missing or in the wrong place, and custom fields need to be added manually. While again we may be able to tackle this efficiently and without breaking the bank, moving vast amounts of posts will take longer and may incur extra costs on top of the standard process outlined on this page.

Similar with ecommerce products: while you can import products into a Squarespace shop from a spreadsheet, it may take extra time to find the best configuration.

In other words: let’s talk before you make a decision.

  • While Squarespace is great for blogging, the way it allows users to manage existing content is just not as good as WordPress.

If you have large amounts of content you need to revisit regularly, you may not love how this works in Squarespace. Get in touch for a quick demo or a conversation about your options!

If your current site includes large content libraries or directories, these would need to be moved to a third-party provider (which we can then seamlessly integrate with your Squarespace site).

  • There’s a reason why most developers recommend WordPress: its advanced functionalities just can’t be beat.

If your current website includes custom-coded design elements, custom post types, or certain other functionalities, we may not be able to easily replicate these in Squarespace.

If you need something we can’t do (well) in Squarespace, we are usually able to refer you to WordPress, Webflow, Wix, or specialised Squarespace designers we trust.

The smaller print

  • If you like how your website looks now, we’ll recreate it as is. If it needs a refresh or rebrand, let’s talk; keep in mind a full

  • Yes, of course! We can move your website from about any platform to Squarespace - just mentioning WordPress as that’s what 95% of our clients want.

  • All of our websites have the necessary elements in place to help search engines understand what your website is about - and they are optimised for speed and other essential aspects.

We always conduct an audit after launch to ensure there are no loose threads.

If you need more advanced SEO (keyword research, SEO strategy, and on-page optimisation) this can be included in your package and will be discussed during our discovery call.

  • This depends on how much you want. or need to change. We’ll usually have a call when I’ve done the majority of the work. so can walk you through things, before finalising the site based on your feedback.

  • Depending on scope and desired timeline, it’s usually between € 1000 and € 2500. We definitely need a conversation before we confirm this.
